Mohalla live (मोहल्ला लाइव) is a site for Debate and Discussion in Hindi. This website is focused on society, politics, cinema, literature and media. This was started as a first community blog which provided uncensored and equal opportunity for debate and discussion in Hindi zoner. At that time, it was simply known as Mohalla (mohalla.blogspot.com). Soon it became an movement and inspired hundreds, perhaps thousands of bloggers in Hindi language to express themselves. Some of the debates on Mohallalive became so intense and fierce that many newspapers and magazines published them with courtesy. Mohalla live has a clear stand, it is always in the support of secularism, downtrodden, Dalits, women and progressive thoughts. It has disclosed the hypocrisy of media, politics and institutions, perhaps no any mainstream and institutional media ever dared. It even faced many legal suits for it, but its zeal never dented.

Mohalla live has always encouraged new writers and welcomed old ones with their youthful thoughts. Recently, with Janatantra.com and Yatra Books (Hindi partner of Penguine Books India) it has started a series of discourse in Delhi named ‘Bahastalab’ (बहसतलब). These discourses are held in Delhi but it intends to organize it across India in near future. It has raised and debated issues on social cause, cinema and media in these discourses which saw the participation of eminent personalities of literary, intellectual and cinema world of India. It has tried to fulfill the vacant place of public debates in Hindi world which once used to be the focal points of Coffee House.

This initiative of an individual, though with the active support of many youthful persons, is indeed an movement in virtual space.

    क्षमा चाहूँगा आप सभी से कि थोडा ज्यादा ही मैंने बोर कर दिया परन्तु समझदार और सचमुच के संवेदनशील लोग (जो उदय प्रकाश जैसे क्रन्तिकारी लेखक नहीं हैं) अब मेरा आशय समझ गए होंगे…. पुनः ध्यान दीजिये इन पंक्तियों पर “उसी तरह जैसे क्रिकेट के ‘छक्के’ के अलावा जो दूसरा…..हा…हा…!”……

    अब बताइए कि इनमे और इनके ही जैसे क्रन्तिकारी इनके पत्रकार मित्र दिलीप मंडल कि संवेदनशीलता में क्या अंतर रह गया.? यह सचमुच चिंता का विषय है कि दलित और नारी अस्मिता कि बात करने वाला, कदम कदम पर ब्राम्हानवाद के खिलाफ नारे लगाने वाला यह स्वघोषित महान कवि और लेखक समलैंगिकों के प्रति कितना क्रूर और असंवेदनशील हो सकता है, और इस लेखक की यह भाषा इंगित करती है कि इस विषय पर यह व्यक्ति किसी सड़क छाप, हुल्लड़ बाज, व्यक्ति से बिलकुल भी अलग नहीं है. फसबूक पर अपने चमचों कि फौज खड़ा करने वाले इस महान युग बदलने का दावा करने वाले कवि से जब मैंने एक बार कोई असहज प्रश्न पूछ दिया जिसका इसके पास उत्तर नहीं था तो पहले तो इसने मुझे अपमानित करने की कोशिश की और जातिसूचक शब्दों का प्रयोग किया और अपने facebook की मित्रसूची से निकालने की धमकी देने लगा….

    अब देखिये इसकी संवेदनशीलता का असली चेहरा….हिंदी साहित्य के कर्णधारों का असली चेहरा….सरकारी अनुदानों पर पलने वाले, और छोटी मोटी स्वयंसेवी विदेशी संस्थाओं से अनुदान पर विदेशों का भ्रमण करने का कोई मौका न खोने वाले, विश्वविद्यालयों के पाठ्यक्रम में अपनी किताबें शामिल करवाने के लिए नाना प्रकार के जुगाड़ करने वाले हिंदी साहित्य के ये महान साहित्यकार गोरखपुर के एक दुर्दांत अपराधी और दंगे करवाने वाले धर्मान्ध सांसद योगी आदित्यनाथ से भी पुरस्कार प्राप्त कर चुके हैं…यही नहीं अभी जब पटना पुस्तक मेले में भाजपा समर्थित नीतीश कुमार के बगल में बैठने का अवसर इन साहित्यकार महोदय को प्राप्त हुआ तो अपने फेसबुकिया चेलों को आनंदित करने के लिए ये आत्ममुग्ध लेखक ये कहते भी नहीं शर्माए कि इन्हें हवाई जहाज का टिकट आमंत्रण पत्र के साथ प्राप्त हुआ है…और इन्हें नीतीश कुमार के साथ बैठने का मौका भी मिलने वाला है….!!! वाह वाह हिंदी के महान साहित्यकार कितनी लालसाएं अभी बाकी हैं इस उम्र में, और हवाई जहाज पर बैठने की तो इतनी ख़ुशी है कि इस स्तर पर पहुँचने के बावजूद भी उल्लास छुपाये नहीं छुपता और इसकी घोषणा करनी पड़ रही है..अब कुमार विश्वाश जैसे मजमेबाज कवि और इनके जैसे अमरत्व को प्राप्त ho चुके गुरु गंभीर और self proclaimed बुद्धिजीवी कवि के सस्ते पन में क्या अंतर है….अन्दर से ये सब एक जैसे हैं….

    खैर सबसे बड़ी चिंता का विषय है कि इनके जैसे तथाकथित बुद्धिजीवियों का नैतिक स्तर कितना गिर चुका है और इनके अन्दर संवेदनशीलता का कितना अभाव है, और गौर करने वाली बात ये है कि जिस भोगवादी middle class को ये बुद्धिजीवी पानी पी पी कर कोसते हैं कम से कम उनमे इससे ज्यादा ही संवेदना बची है और इतना तो मुझे मालूम है कि दिल्ली और बम्बई और महानगरों के आम युवा अब ऐसी बातों से ऊपर उठ चुके हैं और कम से कम समलैंगिकों के लिए ऐसी भाषा का प्रयोग नहीं करते हैं जो ये हिंदी साहित्य का “महान” कवि और लेखक कर रहा है…
